Huvudskydd M/69 Police Helmet

A simple 3d model based on the Huvudskydd M/69, a type of heavy-visored police helmet that was used by the Swedish police in the 1970s to give officers elevated protection when facing armed threats such as terrorists as was the case in the 24 April 1975 West German Embassy siege in Stockholm by the terrorist group RAF (Red Army Faction). These helmets were famously worn by some of the Police during the siege.

This helmet consists of a heavy about 3mm (4mm around the vision slit) thick steel liftable visor (capable of stopping most pistol rounds) mounted onto a modified Swedish army M37 helmet. The visor of the helmet was held up with just friction from the physical contact between its 2 bolts working as the axle and its washers, This was a clear design issue as there was not much preventing the visor from unwanted closing or opening, this was fixed on a later models of the same helmet given slight additions and changes such as a mechanical lock that would hold the visor open or closed and a improved more secure liner.

Modeling this helmet was a slight challenge as haven't modeled armor much and I wanted to make all the tiny stuff such as the helmet's interior like the liner which took some effort and time.

On my extended hiatus. Sorry about that I was busy with a bunch of personal things for a long time and got sick a bunch with stuff like a minor case of infection. But now after feeling better, I can get back to doing more 3d stuff (got a bunch of stuff coming)
